Logs, Chainsaws, and Clarinets with Mark Dubac

Mark Dubac hails from the mighty town of Columbia Maryland which is more than walking distance but less than a plane ride away from Baltimore Maryland and then also Washington DC which as you may know is the capitol of the United States.

From a very young age Mark became obsessed with the clarinet. This was after a brief stint playing piano. In high school he tried to stay away from the general public and pretty much everyone, only emerging from his room for bread rolls, instant noodles and also any and all home cooked meals provided by his mom and dad.

Mark didn’t smoke or do any drugs. Like no drugs. It’s not to late to give them a try. Just the good ones. Probably want to stay off cocaine and meth but maybe smoke some weed and eat a small bag of magic mushrooms sometime? Mark?

Then after surviving highschool and NOT doing drugs, Mark went to The Juilliard School which means he was a bad ass at the clarinet. Mark took Juilliard by storm and blew people’s minds with his crazy clarinet skills. And that’s where he met his wife!

After graduating with a Bachelors of Music, a BM, Mark wandered over to Milwaukee Wisconsin and hammered out a Masters of Music at a university there. Can’t remember what school and there is nothing in the notes. Ask Mark next time you see him.

After several auditions, Mark landed a full time gig with the Oregon Symphony playing 2nd-5th chair clarinet. Some times he’ll run back behind the woodwind section and tap a beat or two on the kettle drums but he’s not supposed to. There have been threats from the conductor and upper management. Oh yeah, Mark plays E flat clarinet a lot which has a higher sound. Not sure what that means but he is killing it up there!

So symphony jobs are terrific but summers are quiet and if you want to make money you have to go on the road. Mark wasn’t interested in all that nonsense so he started doing handy man stuff for people here and there.

One day when the internet was on in his house, Mark decided to use it and he got hooked on these videos by The Wood Whisper. The Wood Whisper has lots of great how too videos about how to make wood things while whispering. Maybe regular talking is fine.

How you will feel cutting slabs with an Alaskan Mill!!!

THEN, Mark found MATT CREMONA, the patron saint of milling wood in your driveway and then next thing he knew, Mark Dubac (the main subject in this blog post) found himself wrangling logs out of people’s yards and milling them up!

He uses a chainsaw mill, also called an Alaskan Mill which is basically a frame that the chainsaw sits in and he cuts slabs. ALL DAY LONG!!! And no drugs, well except sawdust. That’s Mark’s form of nose candy!

Mark now has a serious problem with wood. It’s everywhere in his house. But he will sell it so good news! Mark is not a hoarder!!! So look him up on Instagram at @mdubac or some other way and buy some of his kick ass wood!

By the way, Mark is unfamiliar with cobras. Maybe he’s seen a cottommouth back east which is a pit viper. Not in the elapidae family like the cobes.

Finally, LET IT BE KNOWN THAT MARK DUBAC IS A WORLD CLASS DRYWALL REPAIR EXPERT AND HE REALLY REALLY REALLY WANTS ANY AND ALL CALLS SO HE CAN HELP YOU WITH YOUR DRYWALL REPAIR NEEDS!!!!!
